Smokefree Families
Support for families before, during and after pregnancy.
Introduction
Smokefree Families is a specialist service that can support you to quit smoking if you are planning a pregnancy, are already pregnant or have just had a baby. It can also provide support if you are a significant other of someone who is planning a pregnancy, pregnant or has a new baby. We also support families who are adopting a child or going through surrogacy.
Our service combines the ease of phone support and home visits. We offer intensive behaviour support combined with nicotine replacement therapy to help you to become smokefree.
When you successfully quit, you will be entitled to receive our voucher incentive scheme of up to £120 of Love2Shop vouchers.
We can also support you to quit any long-term nicotine addiction from other forms of nicotine, such as electronic devices, Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) or any other nicotine-containing product.
Smokefree family support
Our programme focuses on supporting behaviour change and breaking habits throughout pregnancy and after birth. Stop Smoking Practitioners will also advise on the use of licensed stop smoking medications to ease nicotine withdrawal and may supply these products for up to 12 weeks if appropriate.
Who can access our support?
- Anyone over the age of 12 who wants advice and support to quit their nicotine addiction.
- Smokers who are willing to work with a Stop Smoking Practitioner towards setting a quit date.
- Ex-smokers who have recently quit and would like some extra support to avoid relapse.
- Somerset residents and or someone having their baby in a Somerset hospital
