What’s your why?

Inspiring Somerset residents to quit smoking by encouraging smokers to identify their personal reasons for quitting.

Why is this so important?

NHS Somerset and the Public Health team at Somerset Council, are excited to announce the launch of our new joint Smokefree Campaign on No Smoking Day, Wednesday 12th March.

Our aim is to support 45,000 people in Somerset to quit smoking by 2030 and reduce smoking to less than 5% of the population.

Reducing smoking rates within our communities has the potential to significantly improve public health outcomes. Smokers are 35% more likely to see their GP and 36% more likely to be admitted to hospital compared to non-smokers.

The Smokefree Somerset Campaign aims to engage communities, empower individuals, and create healthier, smoke-free environments.
